This cake is made by boiling whole oranges until they are soft, then blitzing them to a pulp, skin and all, and mixing with the other ingredients. The result is a moist and sticky sponge, the resulting flavour is like orange on steroids, and beautifully balanced by the marzipan-like flavour of ground almonds. There's also a hint of spicing in there to enhance and complement the other ingredients. We usually ice this with cream cheese icing, to cut through the rich sponge. Totally wonderful!
Whole boiled oranges, caster sugar, ground almonds, free-range whole eggs, gluten-free baking powder (raising agents sodium dihydrogen diphosphate and sodium hydrogen carbonate, rice flour), ground cinnamon, ground cloves.
Salted butter (milk), icing sugar, vanilla extract.
Vegetable margarine (plant oils (sunflower, rapeseed), coconut oil, water, sea salt, faba bean preparation, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, natural flavouring, colour: carotenes), icing sugar, vanilla extract.
Cream cheese (milk), icing sugar, salted butter (milk), lemon juice.
Fairtrade dark chocolate (cocoa mass, sugar, fat-reduced cocoa powder, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring).
Fairtrade white chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, dried full cream milk, lactose (milk), milk whey powder, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, flavouring).
Vegan white chocolate alternative (sugar, cocoa butter, rice flour, flavouring, emulsifer: sunflower lecithin).
Fairtrade dark chocolate (cocoa mass, sugar, fat-reduced cocoa powder, emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring).
